Introduction
Full Bio Sketch
Mr. Jung is now with is now with Hanwha Systems R&D department as system engineer, researching naval combat management system(CMS) architecture, sensors&weapons system integration and verification. He received his B.S. degree in Electronics Engineering in 2013 at Kumoh Institute of Technology (KIT), Republic of Korea. Currently his research interests are Artificial Intelligence appliance/future Cyber security solution integrated with CMS structure for naval battleship.
Research Topic
Containerization and Automated Fault Recovery through Dynamic Runtime Hot-Swapping in NCMS SW
The ROKN's Naval CMS, designed under the Naval Open Architecture (NOA), employs a modular framework integrating heterogeneous processors and application groups. The legacy design, based on a single OS hosted per device, required exhaustive reliability validation and exhibited limited scalability for future software expansion. To overcome these constraints, this research figured Docker containerization by decomposing the monolithic Naval CMS software into modular containers. Moreover, this research proposes a fault-tolerant scheme enabling in-container self-diagnosis and dynamic runtime replacement, thereby eliminating the need for container redeployment and improving system availability.
